Design Learning Network Symposium 2012November 10, 2012Henry Ford Academy in Dearborn, Michigan
Dr. Bob Greenleaf
Bob Greenleaf will present elements of neuro-research on how our brains function and ideas for practice. Dichotomies of Student vs. Learner; Short vs. Long Term Memory; Attention vs. Processing; and Intelligence vs. Creativity.
Bottom line: What is happening in the learner’s mind and how might we influence this to their long range benefit?
Garfield Gini-Newman will focus on the importance of C3i (critical, creative and collaborative inquiry) in a global and digital world and the importance of teaching 5 intellectual tools for quality thinking.
Arnold Wasserman will initiate a call to action - in essence lay the groundwork for all to engage in an open source design-learning community of continued conversations throughout the school year and beyond.
